S50 owner considering the S30 – does it actually look better?

Hi everyone, I’m a big fan of astrophotography, but I’m also a pretty lazy user. That’s why the Seestar is perfect for me: set it up, start it, and then watch the images appear on my phone or tablet while I’m sitting on the sofa. I’m currently using the S50 and have been very happy with it. Lately, though, I keep seeing more and more images taken with the S30, and many of them simply look better to me. I don’t print my photos or do heavy post-processing — the overall look on my phone or tablet is what matters most. So my question is: Is it really worth switching from the S50 to the S30, or is it better to stay with the S50? I’m mainly interested in which one delivers the nicer overall look in real-world use, not maximum detail or deep editing. And one more thing I’m wondering: Are those S30 images I keep seeing heavily processed, or does the S30 already produce a noticeably nicer overall image directly on the device without much editing? Thanks for your advice!

What is the best post-processing freeware tool for Seestar S50?

This is really important to me. I believe that the basic processing in the Seestar app is not enough. Tell me about the best software for this, based on your experience.

Having connection issues with iOS?

I had some serious connection issues. Couldn't stay connected for longer than 45 seconds at times. I'm guessing it is an update coming soon. I was out where there was little connection, and it would connect to the S30 network and then error by losing connection. I was not in Station mode (or whatever it's called where it uses wifi) unless the toggle was incorrect. I tried resetting SO many times. Eventually it worked and I could take some pictures, but it took at least 25 minutes of resetting to get anything.

It is possible to damage sensor in stargazing mode shooting full moon?

Hey. Today's a full moon, and I'm having trouble finding it in the solar system mode. So I went stargazing, found a star, synced it, and then went to the moon, but I forgot to switch from stargazing mode to lunar mode. Could that damage the sensor because of overexposed? It was only for a few seconds before I switched to moon mode. Thanks a lot guy s.

The Universe of You: A Molecular Manifesto

Realize that if the Sun was as big as a pumpkin, Jupiter would be about the size of a grape and the Earth's size would be that of a very small grape seed. Beyond our solar system and Milky Way galaxy there is so much more. By using the Hubble telescope to look into a piece of dark space no larger than a grain of sand held at arms length away from your eyes the telescope captured 10,000 galaxies in its view! The James Webb telescope is giving us views and discoveries that are mind blowing in the 21st century. Carl Sagan's pale blue dot, Earth, floats like a mote of dust in the Sun's light. A photo from 4 billion miles away shows us home. That's here, that's us. We are the result of stellar evolution...We come from exploded stars and so does the Earth you're standing on right now. All of the atoms of your body (except hydrogen, the H built the stars) down to the calcium in your bones was brewed chemically inside a star for millions of years and then it was released into the Universe via stars exploding. A stellar pollination! Stars are the only thing "out there" that can make the material (atoms) that makes up planets, people and plants. Look up into the night sky - that is where the building blocks for the human species and all life was born. Matter comes together via gravity and life arises from biochemistry that flourishes from our Sun's energy. Life also is found to thrive from the Earth's energy, hydrothermal vents, deep within our oceans. So amazing as Richard Dawkins put it: "Matter flows from place to place and momentarily comes together to be you." All of the atoms that you were composed of at birth are no longer in you...you have acquired new atoms for your body material as you've progressed through life. Some molecules such as DNA are not replaced over the life span. You see our bodies are kind of like molecular vessels for matter and our DNA is the architect of matter which contains nature's message, a blueprint for life, that transforms matter into life...to form animate beings such as us. We are the fruits that DNA bears and it is our seed. Each one of us is connected to the entire thread of events of creation from the beginnings in space with exploding stars, to human evolution, to this moment right now. Imagine the beginnings of people 200,000 years ago that look just like us and what they went through to not die out and to raise the next generation...how much of a struggle it was to survive being born into a bare world with no cities, doctors, no language invented yet, and the courage it took to carry on and stay alive. Our ancestors did carry on so that we may be here now...we are a way for the universe to experience itself.

Pushing the limits of the S30 telescope

I have captured light from NGC 7479, superman/propeller galaxy with the S30. It is 100 million light years away from Earth! It is amazing to me what this telescope can do. Does anyone have experiences that are similar?

Seestar s50 minimum visibility?

What is the typical minimum visibility needed to capture good images? This would be in a bortle class6-7 area. I recently got a Seestar S50 and am completely new to astrophotography. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet as visibility has been under 20% in my area the past few nights but am extremely excited and looking forward to getting into this new hobby!

What exactly does the Observing Real Time Feature Mean In The New Seastar Firmware Update?

Hello and welcome. Does anyone know what the real-time observation feature means? What does that even mean? There's no info button next to it explaining what it does. Does it tell Seastar to show us the progress, or does it tell it to display what it sees? Does anyone have an idea what that’s supposed to mean, or has anyone figured it out yet? Cause im kinda confused with the new firmware update.
