Hi folks, I have just received the S30 Pro and keen to try and capture complete constellations in its field of view, yet when I try it, the seestar seems to highlight one star and just presents that one star when imaging. Where is the setting to force wide field camera use and to show the prominent stars names. Any advice welcome folks

To clarify, whenever I mention AI edited images, I'm talking about an image that is given to an AI model like ChatGPT, Grok, or Gemini for it to modify. Tools like GraXpert are fine as they don't change the base details of the image. A while back I posted a rant about how AI edited images were becoming a bit of a problem on here. Now months later, it's only getting worse. So often recently, I open the app to see "stunning" images (at first glance) in the top images section only to take a closer look at them and realize that they are fake due to the user letting an AI edit them completely. Some of these are a bit more obvious than others with the most obvious being nebulae and galaxies that just don't exist, or an image with the Gemini AI logo literally in the corner of the frame (if you don't know what the logo looks like I'll have an example further down). I just ran into a post a few hours ago from a user by the name of "AstroShooterNrw." It was a shot of M27 that had the Gemini logo in their image. I checked their profile and they also had a shot of M16 and NGC6888 with the same problem. After leaving a comment on the M27 image questioning the logo, it was quickly deleted by the user along with the other two mentioned images. Immediately after, all three shots were reposted with the logo simply cropped out to try and hide their blatant use of AI. The first two images below show the Gemini logo in their shots (the M16 one was deleted before I could screenshot it) and the third is the reposted shots with the logo cropped out of each. You can tell they were deleted and reposted due to the like discrepancies in the screenshots. From this experience, and many others, it is pretty evident that users like this do not care very much about astrophotography or astronomy. They simply want to cheat their way to "fame" on this platform by wowing people with AI generated or AI edited content. An insane amount of people are falling for it too even including some of ZWO's appointed judges. I would expect to run into AI images in places like Facebook, X, or Instagram but not as much as I have on a dedicated astrophotography platform. I also did not expect it to be as largely unchallenged/unnoticed as it is on here. It is incredibly frustrating to watch all of this happen and to be honest I don't really care to post on here anymore since things have only gotten worse. This will likely be one of my last posts. I'll make one final image post later if I still feel the same way after giving it more thought.

I have managed to get some great photos of the moon but when trying for other planets they seem to be really bright and I cannot capture the detail , tried turning the brightness down as well. Attached is an attempt of Jupiter

Hey, How to capture comet C/2025 R3 (PANSTARRS) with seestar s50 and s30 pro? Some tips or tricks

When I was taking pictures of M99 Galaxy using my Seestar S50 in Alt Az mode, I had gotten roughly 1,600 frames over the course of 3 clear nights. I was getting almost perfect frame acceptance rates, as I was only doing 5 second exposures from my Bortle 8 location. When I went to use Deep Sky Stack for all these accepted frames, it only used about 600 frames. I selected all the frames, and it rejected so much time spent gathering data. I went through to try and keep as many frames as possible where the rotation did not fully interfere with the stacking process. I'm just curious what I could be doing wrong because this is the only time it's happened to me where I've had so many rejected frames.

Hello everyone,I was at NEAF today, and if any of you haven't heard, ZWO announced the Seestar s50 Pro there. They mentioned a better sensor, longer focal length, and different design/look. Other than that, I didn't get much information. What are all of your thoughts on this? Excited or did you want a Seestar s70? I was expecting them to go for the s50 pro next considering they just made the s30 pro. Interesting that they said they will change the design. Dwarf Labs also announced the Dwarf 4 but I like the Seestars better XD

I was very disappointed by last night session. I use the Seestar S50 in ÉQ mode and I repeated several times the polar alignment procedure until I reached (0°, 0.1°) of residual pointing error. Which 50 mm aperture, I am expecting foot Earth rotation compensation with such error. Also, last night, sky condition were very nice, no Sirius, no wind. Despite this, all my 20s and above exposure exhibited star trails of 10th of pixel long, rejection rate 100%. I did in the past manage to have 60s exposure. What could have been wrong ?

Anyone knows why this would happen? I haven't used AI or cheated in any sort of way. The image was 1st place and then suddenly disappered entirely from the page, when normally they would like go forward and then back. Any ideas are welcome!

These three planets are the ones I see the most so what's the best settings for the S50? managed to get Jupiter once but now I can't remember what settings I chose.

I took many wonderful pictures with the standard 10 secs exposures both in AltAz and Eq mode (in the latter case using a Skywatcher tripod and Eq head). I made the polar alignment withinh the 0.3, 0.3 limits (green check), and I tried the 30 secs exposure on a galaxy (M51). The first 10 minutes I got only the first 2 frames, and the next 18 were all discarded. I made a similar try yesterday: same result. Anyone has suggestions? Should I take care of a perfect polar alignment 0.0 , 0.0? Should I calibrate something more? Could it be the building vibration (or light wind) since I live at 7th floor (rooftop)? The tripod quality and stability is excellent. The rooftop is solid (see picture). Thank you so much for your help.

Hi, I love my S30 Pro so far. Now I would love to experiment with the equatorial mode. Does anyone have a recommendation for a sweet spot in exposure time? I have read online that the S50 has a sweet spot around 20s and the S30 around 30s. Clear skies

Just set up a plan for tonight as it's meant to be a clear UK night. I have M67, Leo triplet galaxies, and M64 and on 20s exposure for the first time instead of my default 10s exposure time. Also have the anti-dew shield and star mask attachments on so I'm looking forward to seeing the results tomorrow. I’ve noticed that I am suddenly unable to see or access the Seestar (Official ZWO Group). I have been a regular contributor sharing my imaging results, but now the group appears blocked for me. Can someone explain the logic behind this? Is there a specific rule I unknowingly violated, or is the group's moderation currently biased against certain types of posts (like EQ mode or technical modifications)? I would appreciate an honest answer from the admins.

Is there any retailers that sell a cover for the Seestar S50? more so to keep it warmer on those cold nights.
