Interested to hear thoughts on AI image enhancement. I'm not talking about enhancing with the likes of Siril, Graxpert, Pixinisight, Seti Astro or within the Seestar app. This relates to fake images created by AI such as chat GPT and similar that actually change the image and add things that were never in the original image in the first place

The above mentioned software can enhance our images hugely but we are still generally spending considerable time stacking, processing and editing to get the final image.

I'm sure we have all seen images posted that beg the question (which is sometimes asked) 'Is that from the Seestar?' Images posted that look nothing like the image should having knowledge of what this device is capable of.

We've all had fun with our images and sometimes done things for fun or effect (star spikes, Hubble palettes, exposure, color etc) but the underlying data is there.

Where is the line drawn if Any?

Should there be a separate channel for AI Astronomy art? (there is an 'Other' channel but is this enough?)

Do you agree that when AI takes over it should be declared on the post?

Has anyone dabbled in the black arts? What's your take on it?

If AI takes over, where is the challenge?

I can see a future where the telescope takes the image, stacks it, edits it and spits it out fully edited and AI corrected. Is this a good thing or bad? Is it inevitable?
