What is the best file format to upload pictures?
Hello, can anyone tell me what the best file format is to upload pictures. I normally use png but I've the impression that I lose quality/resolution.

Question / Debate about APOD. What do you think?
Guys, i'm interested now in APOD and every day i'm checking the hot pictures, new entries and also the winning ones. How come the judges are receiving wins, like common, i get it that are great pictures and all but i see a lot of judges winning day after day, weekly. I don't understand also how the criteria of choosing the winning picture is. If for example one judge has a great or exceptional gear he will win on and on. What about us? How can we compete with this? Also, i posted this on official forum of ZWO,ZWO guys: add a APOD for Seestar users, it's that simple. I rarely see a winning Seestar pic. I think for us Seestar users we struggle a lot more to capture something beautiful, even more processing time in order to make a decent and beautiful picture but let's face it, we cannot compete with hightech gear. And trust me, i saw a lot of beautiful and exceptional pictures made and edited from Seestar.

Bonjour J aurais voulu savoir, si quand on poste une photo, d un messier par exemple sur le concours messier grand slam. Si il est normal que dans current la jauge ne monte pas et qu il soit toujours indiquer 0 sur 110 ? C est pareille pour tout les autres concours ....

Completing the Messier Grand Slam?
Thinking I might be doing something wrong as my completed objects remains at 36 over the past week even though I've submitted around 10 more recently, another query, can I tag two Messier objects in the same post as have just uploaded an image with M84 and M86?

Just had another Thought while surfing the recent submissions and yes, I'm that old, imagine a comparison feature!
By comparison is meant that while viewing other people's imagery, imagine a toggle or button that allows you to select one of either your own or another similar categorized image posted for side by side comparison... This not meant to downplay anyone's efforts but more to allow you to improve on your own abilities, be it in exposure time or post processing competencies. Either way, just needed get that off my chest.. Clear sky regards

All my Thought Posts are based on my imagination that forms part of what I hope will be a wishlist of sorts, like having the ability to identify the Satelite that streaked into your image...
How awesome would that be, I mean I'm no developer but if these smart scopes are so SMART, surely based on the time, zone and inclination, identifying the responsible streaker (satelite) should be as easy as pie 🥧. It would add another dimension altogether... more competitions and or awards, right!? 🌟 🤩

How does one earn the Astronomical Event badge for C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS?
A few months ago, I posted a photo of C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, but I didn't know there was a badge for it until 2 days ago. I can see the badge but I can't activate it to attach my comet photo. Is the badge still being awarded? If yes, then what procedure should I follow to get it?

Need advice - telescope.live for the badge?
Guys, i need advice. I saw that some users used this method and get checkmarks / badges. I need 7 more Messiers and are the tough ones for me from my location (M6 / M7 for example, very low on the horizon and with Bortle 9 very hard to catch). I was thinking of renting a telecope from telescope.live and catch them like this. It will be me who will post process the photos, etc! Is this a good method in order to get the badge ?

Unlike this app , You can DM , create groups, and to be honest I've spoken to some people here and they seem alright and sometimes would like to talk more about ideas etc instead of putting it in a comment I'm not one for being social as I don't play well with humans , I'm a animal person ,but maybe a social media platform dedicated to fellow astronuts it won't be like FB etc It's free to 50 a year which is good as you can upload your files and save space on harddrives Loads of other benefits Writing this I'm convincing myself why not, it doesn't mean I have to talk to people if I don't want to, plus they have badges and comps and I do like earning a badge lol Plus I will be looking at pros work which means I'll have to learn to get better Idk what do you giys thinik If you have astrobin , put your link and I'll follow

Serious question about Sirius A & B ?
anyone been able to show Sirius B either protruding from the light of Sirius A or better yet been able to separate them? Would be interest if you would share your experience and specs. I would suspect anyone who has tried to image both realize their angular separation on the celestial sphere is currently close to 11 arc seconds
