On June 15, Mercury will reach its maximum angular separation from the Sun (24°31'), making this the best time to observe the planet.

Mercury will shine at a magnitude of 0.4 in the evening sky. You can see it with the naked eye in the constellation Gemini.

At greatest elongation, Mercury and Venus appear farthest from the Sun in our sky — which is usually your best chance to spot them in twilight. Elongation is the angular distance between a planet and the Sun as seen from Earth, measured in degrees.
